NOTE: Some full-size portafilters with their “wings” oriented at 3 and 9 o’clock are wider than the entrance to the chamber, causing them to rub against the plastic edges. Although turning 58mm portafilters slightly so that one wing enters before the other allows it to slip more easily into and out of the chamber, Stefano’s Espresso Care recommends a grinder with a larger opening to accommodate 58mm portafilters, such as the Baratza Vario.
