This flange should fit every boiler made since 1983, though if your manufacture date is within 6 months either way, then you are in the “grey zone.” Fine threads are space approximately 1.22mm apart, and coarse threads spaced approximately 1.71mm apart. For earlier machines, please see this fine-thread flange.
The P-6 flange also replace the ABS flange that was in production for a while. NOTE: When replacing a plastic flange, the boiler threads must be cleaned even more carefully than when replacing a non-plastic flange one as plastic particles and glue are left behind and will make the new flange feel like it cannot thread properly.
To install this flange, you must remove your heating element and should replace the element gasket when reinstalling it—either the P-7 for brass and copper elements or the P-7ss for stainless steel elements. You should also consider replacing the boiler spacers—either P-4E for Europiccola models or P-4P for Professionale models. (See list of suggested items below.) Loctite for reinstallation is also suggested see Loc-242.
