Uses rechargeable Cationic resins, which are the same resins found in commercial water softeners. If recharged at the recommended rate of at least one a month (depends on your water hardness), this softener can last up to a year before it needs to be replaced.
Please note: A softener will slow down the buildup of minerals/scale, but it will not completely remove them, so you will still need to descale. The frequency depends on how often you use your machine and the minerals in your raw water.
The frequency of cartridge replacement or resin regeneration will also affect your softener’s efficiency.
